Extrication Tools

Byfield uses the Holmatro System. These tools are designed and manufactured in Netherlands, and are used on the Autobahn. The committee designated the task (headed by Former Lt. Timothy Haynes) decided on Holmatro after examining many systems. After seeing some of the other brands of tools in action by other departments, it is easy to see why we went with Holmatro.

Where water supply is inaccessible, a floating pump placed in a stream or pond allows plenty of high pressure water for stubborn brush fires. It's loud and it likes gas, but it gets the job done.

The Rescue Alive Platform allows a firefighter to safely traverse unstable ice to access and remove a victim quickly.

The water jaws are used to rescue people from water while on dry land.
